Personal Control Panel

Your SiteOne hosting account comes with a Virtual Control Panel that allows you to control certain aspects of your account.

To access your Virtual Control Panel go to http://cp.yourdomainname You will be asked for your user ID and Password (supplied by SiteOne). Once you have gained access you will be able to update or access the following:

Domain Setting
FTP
SQL Databases (if ordered)
Change Password
Email
ODBC
Password Protection (if ordered)
MatrixStats (if ordered)

 

 

Domain Setting

This gives you general information regarding your hosting account, such as IP address, DNS info and the ability to enable scripts to be run (i.e. ASP or Perl)

FTP

Click the FTP button to amend your FTP password. Remember to amend the password on your FTP software.

SQL Databases

Used to administer your SQL Server 7 database configuration (if ordered). Full documentation will be supplied once this has been ordered.

PCP Password

To amend your Personal Control Panel password click Change Password. Enter your new password and then re-enter it to confirm then click Submit Change.

Email

This area lets you set up email for the domain. You have four options, you can either add or modify a POP3 Mailbox, or, add or modify an Forwarder (Alias).

A POP3 Mailbox is an email account that you can send and receive mail through. This can be done using email software such as Microsoft's ‘Outlook’. You can Edit A POP3 Mailbox by selecting it from the list, or you can Add A New Mailbox from the option below.

A Forwarder is a virtual address that forwards the emails it receives to another address. You can Edit An Alias by selecting it from the list, or you can Add A New Mail Alias from the option below.

Both a POP3 box, and an Alias will be in the form of boxname@<your domain name>. e.g. sales@yourcompany.co.uk.

POP3 Mailbox

Adding a new POP email account

Clicking Add New Mailbox will present this screen. Type in the required email account in Username (such as sales or enquiries).

Type in a Password of your choosing. Confirm by retyping it in Confirm Password.

Click Create and it's done!

 

Modifying a POP email account

Click on the account you wish to amend. You will be able to change your email account Password, insert or amend an autotransponder (automated email reply) or set up forwarding to another email account.

If you amend your password you must amend your account password that is set-up on your local email software to the new password.

If you enter your autotransponder message, the first line represents the Subject Header of the email.

To activate the autotransponder click on the Active tickbox.

 

Click Commit Changes to complete your updates. You can also delete the email account by clicking Delete Mailbox.

Forwarder

Adding a new email alias for forwarding

To create a new alias click Add New Forwarder.

Enter the address you want ans then the destination address.

Then click Create Forwarder.

 

Modifying an email alias for forwarding

Click the forwarder you wish to amend or delete.

Amend the destination address.

Then click Commit Changes. If you wish to delete a forwarder click Delete Forwarder.

 

 

Nobody

You will be supplied with an email forwarder called nobody@yourdomainname. This is a 'catch all' for any combination of xxxx@yourdomainname and is very useful in collecting email where the address has been misspelt or doesntt actually exist.

Yo ensure you get email from this account simply amend the desitination address to one of your existing email addresses.

ODBC

To add a new ODBC firstly select driver type.

Click Next.

 

 

Then enter the connection name and the path of where the database is located.

Your database should have been located in the private folder i.e.:

\private\somedata.mdb

Then click Create.

 

ODBC's can be modified or removed.

Password Protection

Used to administer your password protected areas (if ordered). Full documentation will be supplied once this has been ordered.

MatixStats

If you have previously ordered MatrixStats from SiteOne you will be able to view them by clicking on the LiveStats Button.
